Earth To Dinner Rallies ISB Community Around Climate Action

It started with a call to action: On Dec. 12, the first anniversary of the Paris Agreement, gather around the dinner table with friends and other community members to discuss climate action. Organizers from GOOD Magazine and the Earth To Coalition hoped that this grassroots movement, given the incoming administration, would inspire people to keep climate action at the top of minds.

ISB answered the call and decided to host an Earth To Dinner event for 50, with a program that featured a keynote from ISB’s SVP and Director Dr. Nitin Baliga and a panel discussion. From the time we saw the call to action to the date of the event, there was only two weeks to execute the plan. We developed the program and enlisted a chef to collaborate on the meal all in two days. The response to the event was so quick that seats sold out within 48 hours.

The panelists included:

Chef  Josh Henderson, of the Huxley Wallace Collection, sponsored the amazing food: Kale Salad with Lemon and Calabrian Chiles; Sea Wolf Bread with Butter and Sea Salt; Coq au Vin Blanc with Brown Rice; Rapini with Anchovy Bread Crumbs; Gateau Basque. Theo Chocolate graciously provided chocolates to share with dinner guests.

The program was streamed on Facebook Live:

Because the response was so great, ISB teamed up with Seattle Culinary Academy to host a follow-up Earth To Dinner event on Jan. 12. Sign up to receive more information:
