Systems Thinkers in STEM Ambassador – Human Health

Hi! My name is Trisha Mehta, and I’m a junior at Tahoma High School. I’m really passionate about both biology and technology, and I’m especially interested in how the two can come together to improve healthcare. I want to explore how technology can help both medical professionals and patients, and how it can lead to new breakthroughs in vaccines and treatments.

My research project is about the immunization of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). In my project, I talk about how BRCA1 and BRCA2 genetic mutations can increase the risk of developing TNBC, and I also look at some of the new technologies and vaccines that are being developed to help prevent this aggressive type of cancer.

In the future, I hope to major in Computer Science and minor in Biology so I can connect my interests and work on innovations in medicine. Outside of school, I enjoy going on walks, volunteering, coding, listening to music, and spending time with friends.
