Preneet Sandhu
Class of 2022
Tier 2 Course: Bioengineering a Sustainable World – Cohort 1
My name is Preneet, and I am currently a senior at the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology, which is a STEM-oriented school in Lawrenceville, Georgia! During my sophomore year, I conducted a research project, which studied the ability of three denitrifying bacteria species to reduce nitrogen from a fertilizer-contaminated solution. Under the mentorship of ISB and Cohort 1 of Bioengineering a Sustainable World, I was given the opportunity to expand my research and study the effect a certain species of algae has on reducing nitrogen contamination as well. In the future, I aspire to pursue pre-medicine and continue my pursuit to facilitate the wastewater remediation industry.
