Systems Thinkers in STEM Ambassador – Human Health and Computation

I am a senior at International School in Bellevue. I’m interested in the implications of AI in the future and human health. I made my project by combining these interests. Long COVID is a set of persisting COVID-19 symptoms a while after infection. However, the symptoms are so varied that it’s hard to identify those that are specific to long COVID. Thus, I took it upon myself to review research papers about long COVID and see how effective AI was at finding common symptoms, comparing it with my own notes. I hope to become a doctor and use insights like these to help my patients – when should and when shouldn’t I use AI to help them?
