Systems Thinkers in STEM Ambassador– Systems Medicine

Hello! My name is Olivia and I am a senior at Holy Names Academy. I enjoy rowing, baking, and going on runs/hikes. I am also very passionate about biology and public health and would love to pursue this in college. I thought the ISB Ambassador experience tied together environmental health and medicine very well, teaching me just how intertwined these subjects can be. That is why I decided to tackle a topic that covers both climate change and human disease. My project takes on the ongoing question of whether climate change is impacting population density of ticks, and how that influences society’s risk to Lyme Disease.
